The Future of Georgia Education Starts Now. Literally.

The Next Chapter of American Freedom - Education

If students are expected to pass, the Georgia Department of Education should also P.A.S.S. Where is the return on your investment? When Mississippi surpassed Georgia in reading literacy while spending less, an alarm should have gone off across this state. It did not, because there has not been enough transparency, accountability, or capable leadership at the top.

Every parent, guardian, taxpayer, business owner, and community leader in Georgia deserves better. I am running for Georgia State School Superintendent because we cannot afford more excuses, and no other candidate has presented a real plan to deliver results.

53% of the budget. 100% accountability. #1 in results.

Where is the ROI?

Georgia does not need another figurehead offering slogans and empty promises. My campaign offers real solutions that are data-driven and results-oriented.

My plan is P.A.S.S.: Parents and Children First, Accountability, Student Success, and Safety. Parents and children will be at the center of every decision. I will create pathways and build trust.

“ROI means stronger student outcomes, higher lifetime earnings, a stronger tax base, less remediation, lower unemployment, reduced justice-system exposure, and stronger family stability.”

ROI = (Total Benefits − Total Costs) ÷ Total Costs

The P.A.S.S. Framework

P

Parents & Children First

Families are stakeholders, not spectators. The system should be transparent, responsive, and parent-centered.

A

Accountability

Transparent pathways, public visibility, and measurable performance for every public dollar.

S

Student Success

Success is proficiency, credentials, apprenticeships, scholarships, readiness, public service, and entrepreneurship.

S

Safety

Mental, physical, and emotional safety are performance drivers. Safe schools and safe transportation matter.

The five-step plan

2

Enforcement, Not Excuses

Corrective action, monitoring, and lawful intervention where districts fail students.

3

Safe Schools & Parent Rights

Transparent reporting, responsive systems, and clear protections for families.

4

Operational Discipline at GaDOE

Faster response, tighter oversight, less duplication, and stronger cross-office coordination.

5

Statewide Performance with Local Respect

A clear state framework with local flexibility, but real transparency and compliance.

Ready Day One

A New Standard for Leadership

The State School Superintendent’s office oversees billions of taxpayer dollars and carries responsibilities that extend well beyond the classroom. Its leadership shapes a critical intersection of politics, public transparency, fiscal stewardship, workforce readiness, economic growth, and Georgia’s statewide competitiveness.

If Georgia can be the #1 state for business, it should also be the #1 state for education.

Why Mainor?

An educator with legislative and executive leadership experience who understands budgets, government oversight, and public accountability.

The Standard

No blank checks. Giving teachers a voice. Prioritizing children with special needs. Spending must deliver results. Making the state a resource for schools, not a roadblock.

It takes a village to climb mountains.

Share Rep. Mainor's Message

If you believe I am the best candidate, and if no other candidate has presented a real plan to deliver results, then I am asking for your vote and your support. Statewide campaigns are won by getting the message out, and that takes people willing to invest in the future of Georgia’s children. I would be honored to earn your trust and your support as your next State School Superintendent. Although I was the last candidate to enter the race- I'm the first and only candidate with a plan.

Leadership in motion

Our children, neighborhoods, businesses, and Georgia’s future workforce cannot wait another four years. Too many children cannot read now, and that impacts everyone.

Dear Friend,

If I am asking Georgia families to trust me with the future of their children, then you deserve to know more than my resume. You deserve to know my heart, my convictions, and the principles that will guide every decision I make.

I have always been conservative in ideology, but it was not until I was elected and began reading legislation line by line that I fully understood how deeply my values aligned with the Republican vision for faith, family, freedom, accountability, and opportunity. Over time, it became clear that I could no longer remain in a political home that no longer reflected either my convictions or my Christian beliefs.

I switched to the Republican Party because I believe leadership must be rooted in truth, courage, and moral clarity. I could not support efforts that weakened public safety, ignored transparency in government spending, or dismissed policies that would better protect students and families. For me, these were not minor political differences. They were defining moments that made clear where I stood and why it mattered.

I am especially grateful to the members of the Georgia Republican General Assembly who have supported my campaign, welcomed my voice, and stood for policies that put children, parents, accountability, and common sense first. Their support has been deeply meaningful, and I am thankful for leaders who understand that Georgia’s future depends on principled action, not empty rhetoric.

If our children are to be led well, they deserve a woman of principle, courage, and faith. I believe character matters. I believe stewardship matters. I believe Georgia can be the number one state for education if we are willing to lead with honesty, discipline, and measurable results.

I would also like to personally invite you to join me on April 20, 2026, for The State of Education in Georgia: Building Trust, Creating a Path Forward. This will be an important evening of fellowship, vision, and serious conversation about Georgia’s future with leaders from business, education, faith, and the community. I would be honored to see you there.

Thank you for taking the time to read this personal letter. Thank you for caring about the future of Georgia’s children. And thank you for considering the kind of leadership our state now requires.

With gratitude and conviction,

Mesha Mainor
